Urban Legend Cellars Takeover

The East Bay has been referred to as "the most densely concentrated urban wine region in the nation" and Steve and Marilee Shaffer, through Urban Legend Cellars contribute to the exciting once-prospect and now-reality of wine tasting via public transit. They source certified organic grapes whenever possible, produce certain wines that are only available in refillable containers and do all of this in their West Oakland warehouse near Jack London Square in Oakland.

Eric Tucker is looking forward to creating a delicious four (plus amuse!) course meal to pair with these local and sustainable wines. Steve Shaffer said, "The grapes don't care where they're made into wine". We are just glad these two are the ones making it and that we have Eric to prepare the food.

We will be offering this menu AND our regular menu on Wednesday, October 28. Please mention when you make a reservation that you would like to join us for the Urban Legend dinner (space limited). Unlike past winemaker dinners, we will not have a communal table for this dinner--you will be sitting with whoever you bring! Thank you!

Annual Chile & Beer Dinner

Each year we look forward to the 70 mile trip to Tierra Vegetables where we meet brother/sister team Lee and Wayne James, tour their beautiful farm and pick through the most flavorful peppers we can get our hands on. Relying upon sustainable farming practices in an excellent climate for what has been over thirty years now, Lee and Wayne grow more than twenty varieties of chilies and sweet peppers each year.

Eric Tucker and his team select the finest specimens of the harvest and create a delicious 5 course menu at the beginning of each Fall. Because we want Bell Pepper and Naga Jolokia lovers to be able to sit at the same table, we let you control the capsaicin while we quench your thirst with a delicious specialty beer pairing...
